Laser cutting a vinyl flooring example
Laser cutters can be used on a host of different materials. Stone, plastics, woods, glass, textiles, leather, and metals are just a few expamples. In this video, we’re making a sample board to show how it could be used for vinyl flooring embellishments such as hospital cubical numbers, department store floor branding, or floor welcome signs.
The laser cutter works by reflecting a high energy beam of infrared light via a set of mirrors down to the focusing lens that you see moving about. This beam can not only be used for cutting, but when turned on and off in rapid succession, can be used to burn or ablate images into anything rather like a black and white printer.
